Three Climate Crops researchers attended 3rd COST PlantEd (COST Action 18111) conference at the University of Düsseldorf. The main aims of the COST Action PlantEd is to assess the full innovation potential and impact of plant genome editing; to set the future direction of research priorities; to promote the link between research and innovation in a socially responsible manner; and to examine the synergistic interactions with closely related fields.
The 3rd PlantEd Conference consisted of open scientific sessions on genome editing technology in plants, followed by PlantEd Working Group (WG) sessions and a Management Committee (MC) meeting. The conference featured sessions on three main questions: What do we know about genome editing in plants? What can we achieve with genome editing? What do we think about the application of genome editing in plants?
