From May 14 to May 16, 2024, the Institute of Sustainable Agriculture (IAS), a research institute of The Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas – CSIC) hosted a comprehensive training workshop focused on enhancing communication skills in the field of science. Organized under the Horizon Europe project Cropinno (Project No. 101059784), the workshop aimed to equip both experienced scientists and young researchers with essential skills for effective communication and dissemination of scientific research.

The training workshop focused on enhancing scientific communication skills over three days. Day one emphasized clarity and precision, covering topics like jargon use and audience understanding with practical exercises on text analysis and social media announcements. Day two shifted to public presentation skills, including effective techniques and infographic preparation. The final day concentrated on communicating scientific results, including summaries, posters, and grant applications, along with discussions on writing scientific papers and storytelling. The collaborative environment aimed to improve researchers’ ability to convey their findings, increasing the impact and accessibility of their work.

As the training concluded, participants expressed appreciation for the practical examples and recommendations provided by their colleagues at IAS (CSIC), which will aid them in effectively communicating their research endeavors in the future.
