A team member of Climate Crops Centre, MSc Jelena Jockovic, defended her PhD thesis titled “Micromorphological and anatomical characterization of plant organs of wild sunflower species as a potential gene pool for breeding cultivated sunflower (Helianthus spp., Asteraceae)” at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Sciences on November 10th, 2023.
The thesis reported that new findings on cortical, mechanical, vascular, and secretory tissue unveil previously undiscovered data regarding Helianthus interspecies variability.
